We hired MainStay Landscape to design and build a patio for our backyard. Prior to installation, ground cover and a sloping lawn existed where the patio was to go. In addition there lived a perennial garden, surrounded by a short, Pennsylvania stone wall in the middle of the backyard. We wanted the garden removed and the Pennsylvania stone incorporated into the patio retaining wall. We also asked that he build around a mature Cherry Tree that provides privacy for the home. Jay designed a 480 square foot, bluestone patio, boarded on one side by a Pennsylvania stone, dry stack, retaining wall that gently curves around the Cherry Tree. Underneath the tree he planted a few of the plants removed from the perennial garden. Jay also included 5 LED wall lights that send light cascading down the wall at night, along with two up-lights for the Cherry Tree. Throughout the planning process Jay was attentive to our questions and requests. He was straightforward and accurate with his pricing. And when the time came to actually build (took 2 weeks), Jay and his team displayed the utmost in professionalism and trustworthiness. It is impossible to give a higher recommendation. They simply do things the right way and with a friendly, honest approach. We could not be happier with our new living space.”
